ROC Emergency Distribution - Quick Aid Program - 27 July 2025

Over the course of my almost 10 years of humanitarian work in the Philippines I have seen firsthand the impact of natural disasters on impoverished and vulnerable communities. As such, when I founded ROC on 04 December 2024, I launched a brand new program called Quick Aid, which focuses on providing emergency assistance to ROC beneficiaries in response to natural disasters.

During the last part of July 2025 (last month), following three consecutive typhoons (Crising, Dante and Emong) within 10 days, the Mayor of the City of Rodriguez, Rizal, Philippines, was forced to declare a State of Calamity. As some ROC beneficiaries were being relocated due to flooding and/or severely affected by heavy rain, Bobby Talla Lucero, ROC Director of Operations, informed me of the dire needs of these vulnerable families.In response to this emergency, on 27 July 2025, ROC, supported by itself dedicated volunteers and members of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Montalban (Rodriguez), distributed to its beneficiaries of Sitios (small villages) Katwiran and Lagundi a total of 143 Bundles for Hope (BH - food packages - 78 and 65 BHs respectively), including 700kg of rice. It may seem like a small response; however, it was definitely a double milestone for ROC as it was both its first ever operation in the PH, as well as its first ever emergency response. I want to say well done to my devoted team for rising to the occasion and such a solid response on a short notice!
